Clergy: the Joke

The funniest thing about Christianity is that it makes it so that laymen require a mediator between them and God (to save my sanity I’m going to refer to a masculine god although I believe that he or she may be gender-neutral). That is the biggest hoax that is perpetuated by the church. All people and in-fact, all of creation, are in communication with the divine. To me, the most absurd claim clergy can make is that they are somehow sinners of a lesser degree than everyone else. I watched a priest while giving communion wine take a swig before and after every parishioner. By the end of the line of people he was flat-out drunk.

I think the most important thing that Jesus taught was that all people were equal. He also taught not to judge. I think that the church gives more emphasis on the sanctity of Jesus rather that his actual ministry. I mean, the gospels and the entire New Testament was written years after Jesus’ death. When we talk about Paul as this mighty Christian who had a divine connection, it shocks me. Paul was a human being. He goes from being a malicious Pharisee to a malicious Christian. Several times in the documentation of his letters to the churches he uses his platform to curse those who disagree with him. It’s silly really. First he talks about how great Jesus is for forgiving then he goes out and curses the forgiven.

It seems that the further one is seeped in Christianity the more violent, extremist, intolerant, and volatile they become. “Heathens” see Christians and think that they want to be a part of that crowd – a part of the forgiven; but it’s the Christian Clergy who is suggesting guilt and the necessity of forgiveness. If you want to see the nature of God, do not look at the example set by the Christian Church. It’s silly that clergy beg for tithes and offerings but have no involvement in political discourse which could potentially be the basis for major social change. What I mean is that a church should use it’s platform to teach people how to live their lives sustainably, how to grow urban gardens, how to spot and report domestic violence. I hate to tell people this but lip-service to Christ doesn’t mean anything. Belief in a deity is involuntary – it’s like saying that if you bleed when you’re stuck with a pin, is a good indication that you’re alive.

We absolve our guilt when we stop accusing God of making us sinners. God didn’t create sinners, he created humans. It’s impossible to quantify human worth by their “sinful” activity. Probably because sin is subjective. Some people might say that I’m a sinner because of my sexual preference. What is worse, homosexuality between two consenting adults or pedophilia? I think that the Christian church has tied itself into knots trying to pray away the gay white it’s clergy actively sexually abuse children. It‘s almost as if Christians think God is stupid for forgiving them, their behavior doesn’t change.

I don’t understand how so many Christians can actively believe that Donald Trump is a noble man. I don’t think they are actively evil but the circumstances (a combination of media brain-washing, poor diet, psychoactive pharmaceuticals, and poor education) have brought them to their knees cognitively so that they don’t even realize they are being swindled. It’s sad that most people have felt intimidated in a church by the clergy. That’s honestly probably the intent of the clergy – to make you feel like you owe it to God to give him 10% of your income.
